For the graveyard Rhijnhof, Frans van Nieuwenborg designed two statues which decorate the entrance to the graveyard. These ‘Gatekeepers’ were given a reserved design, fitting for the environment and matching the architecture of the gatehouse of the graveyard (designed by VVKH architects). At daytime the gatekeepers form a quiet limitation of the driveway. At night they are lighted beacons of Rhijnhof.
